AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre collaboration that defies traditional predictions, Ubisoft has announced an virtual crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event continues from November 25 through December 22, providing complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.
Mysterious Adventure Revealed
According to the official announcement, "An unusual confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh quest, where hints of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The narrative introduces a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her friend from a hidden cult.
The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Transformations
The preview highlights the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The trailer finishes with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Additional Features
Players who finish the quest will receive an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also features in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

- Mikasa costume for Naoe

Latest Free Story Update
This update also introduces the game's third complimentary story content, titled "The Mystery." This humorous quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade signature techniques: Naoe introduces a dramatic variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters non-lethal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime series. The series previously showcased a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
